My fiancee and I are registered at Bed Bath & Beyond. We registered for a variety of stuff including a number of small kitchen things that those who cannot afford to by us the $400 stand mixer that my fiancee wants can still get us stuff we need.
A good friend of mine and his wife bought us 5 things and put them together. A tea kettle, 2 different types of measuring cups, a set of measuring spoons, and an egg separator (I didn't know it existed either).
Bed Bath & Beyond sent us the tea kettle separately. Then, much to her excitement a second box came, presumably with the rest of the gift. We were wrong.
Here is the Youtube video of the Package.
Please see the video first, before the jump and the tirade.
A $6 piece of rubber. A lousy egg separator came in a box stuffed with paper covering another box stuffed with more paper.
They spent more money on packaging and shipping then on the profit of off the damned egg separator. How does this make any business sense? How does this make any sense environmentally?
I wonder how much energy, materials, and fuel we can save if Bed Bath & Beyond can wait 2 more days and send everything together.
