I found some good links to other cartoonists sites at Hullabaloo today, and since this is a time-sensitive thing (meaning that the cartoons will roll off soon) I thought I'd provide the links to the sites here. The cartoons linked offer a different view of how cartoonists have approached the same subject as the New Yorker cover, but in my opinion did a much better job at their satire. One of the cartoons features a take-off on the New Yorker cover that features John and Cindy McCain war mongering, burning the constitution and pill popping, but under the title of the National Review magazine to illustrate the effect of a failed effort at satire. Links are below
I found these at Hullabaloo today. The first link I'll provide is to the Political Irony website, link below

I really suggest you check this out if you enjoy irony, satire and cartoons. Lots of funny stuff over there, and they have two examples of a "National Review" cover that communicate well what anguish many of us felt over the New Yorker cover. They also have a Tom Tomorrow cartoon that addresses the same issues as the cover.
The second link is to the Tom the Dancing Bug website, link below, which features a tradition cartoon format that previously addressed the same issue as the New Yorker cover, but is much less confusing.

I hope you enjoy these links. I've always loved cartoons. I swear, for years I only bought the Sunday Oklahoman for the funnies and the sports pages. The rest of it was (and I assume still is) trash. I'll be honest with you, I thought the New Yorker cover racist and an affront to Muslims and, frankly, trashy. Here in Oklahoma we suffer from such tags as "white trash" and "trailer trash" but I wonder if there is a "New York elite trash" tag. You might have guessed by now that I really didn't like the cover.
