The Washington Post editorial team, which loves to spend its column space sneering at Barack Obama, came out with a truly pathetic editorial today.
Read it here, if you can stomach it.
The Post titled the article "A Bundle of Hypocrisy" because Barack Obama proposed a bill that would require disclosure of campaign bundlers and Obama has not completely followed the proposed legislation during his campaign.
The Post's fundamental logic seems to be that you can't suggest a neutral rule unless you plan to abide by it even if its not adopted.
This is a truly stupid position.
I seriously doubt John McCain is abiding in his campaign finance practices during this campaign by every rule he suggested in the initial draft of his campaign finance legislation. Frankly, he would be an idiot if he were, and despite all the ways John McCain is wrong for this country, he's not an idiot when it comes to politics.
Anyway, I'll keep it short. Brad Delong, a toast to you tonight.
