- Isn't it bad form to openly suggest that our judicial branch be as partisan as the other two? Color me naive but isn't it best to keep politics out of the courtroom? Since when has any judicial campaign been anything but non-partisian?
- move.org, the sierra club and labor are going to spend ONE BILLION DOLLARS (I'm holding my pinky to my mouth accordingly) in the next five months? Seriously? Obama instructed all outside groups to not campaign for him, it seems the only one to defy him so far is Matthew 25. Moveon.org shut down their 527.
No mention that the RNC is killing the DNC in money. And John McCain is out-doing Obama in fundraising too. No mention of what makes John McCain a candidate worthy of your (probably limited) funds. Just a panicked "ZOMG THE LIBERALS ARE TAKING OVER" email.
It's a new month, and they didn't take away my cost of living raise so, I'll be donating to Obama, maybe I'll do it on the 4th in honor of Malia's 10th bday.
Email in full, emphasis mine
Dear Laura,
In a stunning act of hypocrisy, Barack Obama has broken his pledge to accept public financing for the 2008 general election.
Obama is the first presidential candidate to opt out of the public finance system instituted after the Watergate scandal. After claiming to run a campaign of change, it seems the only thing he is willing to change is his principles if it is the politically expedient thing to do.
And in his announcement to disavow public funds, Obama falsely claimed that, "John McCain's campaign and the Republican National Committee are fueled by contributions from Washington lobbyists and special interest PACs."
Laura, let's set the record straight.
According to the non-partisan FactCheck.org, the RNC receives 98.9% of our funds from voluntary contributions of grassroots leaders like you willing to make an investment in building a better future for America based on our conservative principles of lower taxes, limited government, strong national defense and individual freedom. The average donation to the RNC is $69.
But the Obama Democrats are not letting the facts get in the way of their drive to recapture the White House and expand their majorities in Congress.
Obama has already raised $295.5 million during the primaries, and will raise and spend as much as $500 million before November. Liberal special interests from Big Labor to the Sierra Club to MoveOn.org will spend close to ONE BILLION dollars to defeat Republicans and help Democrats seize total control of the federal government.
There's only one way John McCain and our candidates can counter the Obama Democrats' massive haul of campaign cash . . . and that's through your generous support of the RNC.
The RNC is the ONLY Party organization permitted by federal law to directly support John McCain after our National Convention.
Your secure online contribution of $1,000, $500, $100, $50 or $25 today will help keep our Party on track to victory by providing the voter registration, campaign programs and direct financial support to elect Republicans from the courthouse to the White House.
Laura, your help today is absolutely vital.
Please take a moment right now to make a secure online 2008 campaign contribution of $1,000, $500, $100, $50 or $25 to help elect Republicans at all levels. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Robert M. "Mike" Duncan
Chairman, Republican National Committee
P.S. Laura, with Barack Obama set to raise $500 million for his campaign and liberal special interests chipping in close to $1 billion more to defeat Republicans, the RNC needs your support to continue our critical Party-building efforts. To help keep our Party on track to nationwide victories, please make a secure online 2008 campaign contribution of $1,000, $500, $100, $50 or $25 to the RNC today by clicking here. Thank you.
