I think Ronald Reagan changed the trajectory of America... I think they felt like with all the excesses of the 1960s and 1970s and government had grown and grown, but there wasn’t much sense of accountability in terms of how it was operating.
-- Barack Obama, January, 2008
Context: I plan on bringing the so-called Reagan Democrats back to the democratic party, and I will do it by being a charasmatic candidate on stage, because the Reagan Democrats wern't voting for Reagan based on any of his actual campaign platforms. Because i ain't gonna get their vote, prancing around town with dreadlocks on with a tie-dyed 'JAH' tee-shirt on, acting like its 1968 again because a giant rainbow is going to save the world.
-- Barack Obama, the unauthorized biography
In the early years of the civil rights movement and opposition to the Vietnam War, defenders of the status quo often accused anybody who questioned the wisdom of government policies of being unpatriotic. Meanwhile, some of those in the so-called counter-culture of the Sixties reacted not merely by criticizing particular government policies, but by attacking the symbols, and in extreme cases, the very idea, of America itself - by burning flags; by blaming America for all that was wrong with the world; and perhaps most tragically, by failing to honor those veterans coming home from Vietnam, something that remains a national shame to this day..
-- Barack Obama, June 30, 2008
Context: At the last meeting of the Democratic Party, a buncha crazy old women hippies tried to turn in into a recreation of the 1968 democratic convention because their female candidate had a loosing campaign. So what I am tryng to say, is I don't want all you dirty fucking hippies to show up to Denver acting like its the Summer of Love.
In fact, if 1968 was the Summer of Love, then the dirty fucking hippies don't have too much love for the the Democratic Party.
--Seele, July 2, 2008
after reading the last post some dirty fucking hippie wrote about how a Black Man should get down on his hands and knees and beg the baby boomers for all the great things their generation of hippies did to bring civil rights to African Americans.
Civil Rights was passed in 1964, the year bands like the Beatles topped the billboards with "I want to hold your hand." I wanna hold your hand? Thats not some hippie anthem! That was even before the white album for chrissakes!
Here is the problem: Hippies are trying to take credit for shit they didn't even do. There were no Hippies during the civil rights marches. You all didn't even show up yet. Hippie contribution for the progressive movement can be summarized by the 1968 democratic convention, and the resulting landslide victory for Richard Nixon.
Thanks for nothing Hippies, it must be so fun to turn on, tune in, and drop out, while the rest of the nation carries you on their back. Oh wait, the shit you pulled in 1968 was nothing compared to the curse your generation gave to America with 8 years of George Bush.
Let me guess, the dirty fucking hippies are gonna pout, cuz you refuse to hang with an actual Liberal. You are gonna spam this thread with your hippie bullshit about how your generation invented having sex during the summer of love, and your other bullshit like Hemp is gonna save us from oil, or any of the other bullshit fantasy about how great 1969 was because it had '69' in it, and that "...is like too sweeet."
This is one of many bullshit mythologies hippies have drempt up about the world, as found at:
Lets take a look at this representative from the Hippie generation has to say:
Once a week, on Fridays at 10 a.m., the local air raid siren was tested.
Holy Colonel Mustard, an air raid siren? that only happens the first tuesday of each month where I live, the pre-pubescent hippies had it so rough! How are you hippies gonna cope from the stress of having the world rid of the nazis done for you? Lets see, they are hippies. Let me guess, they cope with the traumatic 1960s childhood by taking drugs and screwing each other? Kinda like every other generation? You hippies act like the birth control pill is made of hemp! Lets see what this dirty fucking hippie has to say:
But such drills were not the only intrusion on this child's peace of mind. JFK came on TV to announce something called a blockade...
What? Oh no, the television frightened you? Dude, we have 160 channels, you had 3.
Newspapers and teevee also played their part, with pictures of mushroom clouds and something called 'above ground testing' and how it might hurt children, if the wind blew just so.
Does this hippie expect me to believe, nuclear war only threatened hippies? Hippies prolly saw the giant mushroom on the television and said to themself "... dude, i gotta try some of that shit!"
And not just this, but newspapers and teevee started showing me pictures of black-skinned people being arrested
They had the TV show 'COPS' back in 1969? That shit is on 24-7 on todays television sets, you dirty fucking hippie. dirty? since when did dirty mean stupid?
Things like The Silent Spring of Rachel Carson...
Silent Spring was published in 1962, no hippie did that. You are taking credit for other people's shit again! What did hippies accomplish?
NOTHING.
What did hippies fuck up? Besides themselves on drugs?
EVERYTHING.
All your generation did, was find excuses to run up the credit cards and hand the bill off to your children. That it. That professor who taught Al Gore about Global Warming? He was too old to be a hippie. The hippies didn't listen to global warming. why did it take so long to gain public acceptance?
Look at bush! You say he was a coward he didn't fight in vietnam! Then you bring up this gem:
We burned draft cards.
What do you think bush was doing when he chose to stay home instead of going to vietnam? Its the same shit! What yours was different because it was a symbol of protest? Bush was protesting too, protesting someone's attempt at interfearing with his drug-use. Just what else were the hippies doing?
In conclusion you cite the memory of the people killed in Kent State as justification for your inaction.
You act like you never seen an innocent kid killed before? You post their faces like its the Fab Four:
Cops are gunning down Americans left and right. Ok, this one was a little different because the kids were white, but how is that shit different from Columbine? Or Virginia Tech? Too many guns, and too many idiots.
What, you think your childhood was so rough you want mamma to come back and tell you its all better? Same shit happend in our generation too, you don't see us acting like a dildo, chanting 'Denver, Denver' Thats the idiot hippies, acting like they can even articulate what they wanna accomplish, they even said at the Democratic Rally when the DNC decided the fate of the electoral votes for 2 states that didn't follow the rules said.
So the dirty fucking hippies are pissed at Obama for what? Not swinging from dirty fucking hippies' nuts? Why should he? If your generation was so great, why did it produce the worst president in american history George Bush? Didn't he see the same shit you saw on TV?
How is a hippie different then George Bush? Both saw those same things on television. Both boycotted the Vietnam war. Both took way to many drugs. Both freak out at any thought of taking responsibility for their actions. Just because he wears a suit, and not tie-dye? Maybe he is in disguise? I saw what the hippies did at the Chicago Democratic convention during their summer of love, Bush is doing the same shit except in Iraq.
Both just fucking shit up for no apparent reason...
...Cuz neither give a shit about the future.
Why dosn't bush give a shit about the hundreds of thousands he killed in iraq? Why didn't the hippies care about the democratic party for the next 30 years when they trashed the Convention?
Blame the cops for that riot? What did you think was gonna happen? The people of Chicago don't fuck around, didn't 'The Untouchables' on 1960s television teach you that?
Thats your legacy. FAILURE. Best step aside for the new generation, we have learned from the hippie generation's mistakes. This will not happen in Denver HIPPIES:
