The McCain campaign obviously thinks they have a winning argument with this "a timetable is okay as long as its based on conditions on the ground" thing. I've heard Obama say several times that his withdrawal plan would obviously be based on conditions on the ground, so I'm wondering where the daylight is between those positions. Did Obama say publicly sometime that his 16 month withdrawal plan was inviolate? Did he say in a debate that the troops would be out of Iraq by a date certain? I'm only asking because I wonder if Obama isn't making this point clear enough, or he actually did at some point say the withdrawal would not be conditions based, or this is anther example of the Media not doing their job. Any help here?
