John McCain must be desperate. If he is sending me fund-raising letters, he must have serious problems, or a complete lack of organization.
So I received a two page fund-raising letter, which you can view here, page1 and page2. This strikes me as odd. I will give them credit for finding one of the only republican leaning precincts in San Jose. You can not get elected dog-catcher in San Jose with out support from the Democratic Party. (You can if you are in a non-partisan office).
However, if they would have merely looked at a few simple things, the could have easily seen I am not a good target. First off, I am a registered Democrat. Heck, I even run a small PAC. So much for the vaunted RNC targeted machine. Second off, I have made federal contributions to candidates like Zoe Lofgren and Al Franken, and this data is available on OpenSecrets.org and the FEC web site. Now Zoe is very reasonable, but the Al Franken money should be a dead give-away.
It appears to be a very desperate attempt to raise money. First off, its says:
To stay competitive and ultimately win this election, I must raise $10 million in the next 7 days.
He also quotes Obama's "massive amounts of money". He also resorts to the same old Republican name-calling, which is what they do when they can not think of anything else to say. He says:
We must get voters to break through the smokescreen of Senator Obama's artful speechmaking and focus on the reality of his ultra-liberal, tax-and-spend domestic plans and irresponsible foreign policy.
I am glad to see they are disorganized and desparate. I would rather they send these to me than someone who could be swayed by them.
