Here it is...
Yes, you saw this part right:
Close up of people waving their American flags, slow pull back to reveal they’re waving them for Obama.
God, and I thought using footage of him with the troops in their last ad was a bumbling move. Obama couldn’t have picked a better 5 seconds to show on national television if he tried. I timed it out, and besides the final shot of the smiling Obama with the heavenly glow coming from behind him, the footage of the flag wavers is the single longest video clip in the ad.
The longest used visual is always the takeaway in ad-making, words are almost secondary, unless it’s a simple person talking to a camera or just one still picture with a bunch of negative headlines. That’s just universally known.
So, the two take aways from this ad are that people wave American flags for Obama, and that Obama is a smiling guy with light from the heavens shining down upon him.
Obama should raise funds for McCain, to get more sloppy ads like this put on the air.
But, for now, why don't you use the comments to suggest what other visuals John McCain might want to put in his next ad. Maybe they can "mistakenly" use a picture of the Crypt Keeper when talking about their candidate?
