When the news broke about Helms' death, I was not surprised to see some of the diaries about it. I have to admit, I shared many of the same sentiments and did a brief post of my own on my personal blog. But when I saw some of the titles, I thought: 'uh oh, some conservative pundit is going to see these diaries and point at them saying: look there, on that eeevul librul site DaitlyKos, they're a bunch of hatemongers! Waah!'
sure enough...

I have to admit, reading Jeff Jacoby's rants are a guilty pleasure of mine. His ideas are so deliciously racist and sexist (white women aren't having enough baaabiez! We're gonna be overrun by the dark-skins!) as a recent editorial of his stated, and like most conservative blow-hards, he lives in a fantasy world where all the worlds's ills would be solved by rounding up all them dirty f**king hippies and deporting them to Siberia.
Today's rant is a jewel. He attempts to praise Jesse Helms by attacking DailyKos and liberals in general for saying bad things about the man. There's little good he can say about the deceased because he wasn't a very nice person. Duh.
His point seems to be that we're picking on the poor man and how dare liberals hate anybody, especially a racist dinosaur like Helms!
Well, I have to say that I think it's a rare things that so many people on this site were so united in thier distain for the man and what he stood for, but last time I checked, hating someone and rejoicing in their passing isn't against any laws. Based on the few forays into republican sites like Redstate and LGF I have made, I think we're amatures when it comes to hate-fests.
