Since we're probably going to see another 20 diaries on FISA today, I thought I'd use my daily allotment of 1 diary to provide an open thread to get everything FISA related off your chest. According to what I've read so far today, it's either no big deal, the End of The World as We Know It, or something in between.
For me, it's on the business as usual side of the spectrum. I must admit, I've TRIED to read up on FISA, the bill, what it does, doesn't do, and I guess I'm too stupid to understand it. Either that, or it's too boring for me.
One point that's going over my head is that somehow, life as we know it is over. Yet somehow, I suspect tomorrow when I wake up, I'll have my breakfast, make my coffee, take my daughter to YMCA summer camp, and come back to my home office to surf and blog on Daily Kos ( in case my boss is reading this, I mean come home to work hard and non-stop on my tech projects) like usual. I'm worried about the economy, jobs, changing our energy plan to decrease dependence on foreign oil, ending the war in Iraq, and being able to retire with dignity and comfort, and passing off a better life to my daughter. So how much really is this FISA bill going to change all of that?
So feel free to educate me, abuse me, get anything you want off your chests regarding FISA. If I've saved room for any other diaries not related to FISA, then I've done my Daily Kos duty for today.
