As a subscriber to the Obama email list (I'm sure I'm not alone) I just got a blast email from Mr. Plouffe himself.
Full text below the fold.

Obama for America
Very straightforward: Barack is about to pick. This is clearly part of a well thought out plan to create a groundswell before the pick is announced, Obama style. Plouffe is utilizing not just the internet, but the texting generation's instant-communication firepower to make this a big moment in the campaign.
And lets not forget - the Obama campaign has rolled out $5 million dollars for Olympic ad buys. The rest of the games, including the closing ceremonies, could be a great time to introduce the country to whomever he's about to pick.
