I thought I'd see if there was any responses to McCain's negative olympic ad, so I started googling and I found a nice one from newsday.com which seems to be a local newspaper on Long Island, NY...
From Newsday
Boo to Sen. John McCain for running a negative attack ad during the Olympics. Double Bronx cheer for mucking up the Olympic spirit by referring to your opponent's global appeal.
Stumbled across some nice comments from the ABC blogs as well...
McCain, Obama Compete in Olympic Ad Wars
From the comments:
The differnce in ads is stiking. During a time of celebration McCain ruins the mood with his negative ads. Obama's ad may be one of the best ads I've seen. He reminds Americans that we can accomplish anything. McCain is a downer. If he is elected he'll continue pushing America down the toilet.
and
Unbelievable that McCain would run attack ads during the Olympics. Totally tone-deaf.
Ok this one isn't about McCain's ad, but I couldn't help include it!
From canada.com
When NBA basketball star Yao Ming carried in the flag of the host nation, poignantly accompanied by a nine-year-old survivor of the recent devastating earthquake in Sichuan province, the noise in the stadium became numbing. The U.S. received a massive reception, mostly positive, but with a few whistles and jeers when President George W. Bush was shown on the big screen.
So we're not just reacting in a vacuum here at Daily Kos to this affront to the Olympics. The story is out there.
