Even though I will speak about John Edwards and John McCain, this diary is about something bigger. This diary is about the MSM's talking heads that willfully distort truths. Why? For ratings...for money...but more importantly, for their big media corporate bosses. To put it simply, the talking heads want to keep their jobs.
After days and days of listening and reading about the John Edwards affair I became increasingly agitated with the media. On and on went the analysis and opinions. Being regurgitated, chewed on and spit out again and again.
Meanwhile, as I continued to watch the coverage about the Edwards affair, I began having queasy feelings in my tummy-tum. Something was bugging me. Hmmmmmm, what could it be? Oh yeah, cheaters and media coverage.
Of course the fact that any man who cheats while married is, without question, disrespectful and selfish. And, without a doubt, is a traumatic time for all involved. But does that matter to the media vulchers? Aren't they more than delighted to oblige us with the juicy details of an affair? So there they are, ad nauseam, offering opinions upon opinions, as well as imposing their biased viewpoints.
What point am I trying to make here?
OK, now back to John Edwards. ...Yes, he did have an affair in 2006 while married. He denied it, again and again. True. Disgraceful and shameful. Yes. And apparently according to the media he is now unfit to be involved in anything that is political. Right? And, that John Edwards future in politics is likely over. Hmmmm. The point here is that the media is relentless in its attempt to assure us that he is no longer valued as a politician.
That said, now it's time to move on to another John.
Herein lies my rub...we have another John that in his past had an affair while married. I am speaking of John McCain.
Was John McCain's affair hurtful and disrespectful to his then wife? Yes. Has he had to come forward and defend his actions? No. Has he made a public apology? No. Have the reporters and journalists from the MSM declare that John McCain is not fit to be in politics? A big NO! They are mum when it comes to the straight talker. And why is that? Why would the MSM not bring up John's infidelities? Why won't they rant on and on about McCain, and discuss his lack of honesty about his womanizing and affairs?
Why did the media allow that to happen? Why did they allow him to continue his career as a politician?
Shouldn't John McCain be deemed unfit for political office just as John Edwards has been. How and why does John McCain get a pass from the media? I am outraged over the media's assessment of the Edwards affair. But I am even more disgusted with the MSM for not giving equal time and equal opinions of the McCain affairs. Especially in light of the fact that he is the presumptive nominee for President.
The poor judgment of both politicians were/are equally wrong. They both cheated on their wives. It is as simple as that. The only difference between these two examples of action is time. Why does time matter? And should it matter? Should an affair that happened two years ago be looked at any different than one that happened many, many years ago. It does not change the fact that it happened. Then, or now, it was/is still an affair. And yet, McCain continues on with his political career.
Just maybe...possibly...could one assume that there just might be a Republican connection between corporate media and John McCain?
So tell me, is it because he is a Republican? Is that reason enough as to why McCain is getting a free pass from the talking heads in the MSM? Maybe.
For ratings...for money...but more importantly, for their big media corporate bosses. To put it simply, the talking heads want to keep their jobs.
