Monday during my lunch hour, I happened to tune into the local Columbia NPR station to hear an interview with a delegate to the Republican Convention in my home state of Minnesota. Oh my.
The interview was conducted by a man from the Strom Thurmond Institute on Government and Public Affairs at Clemson. Here's the link:http://cufan.clemson.edu/...
Let's just go over some of the more interesting comments she made.
- In this post-9-11 world, John McCain is "near the spirit of a Churchill." I'm assuming she meant the fast food joint, but I'm not 100% certain.
- In speaking about the VP selection, she was hoping he'd choose the governor of Louisiana, Bobby Jindal, because he's a consistent conservative, he's young, and he has a good tan. A GOOD TAN?????? Holy racism, batman!
- She also thought the governor of SC (Mark Sanford) would be a good choice, because both he and McCain "could live forever on virtually nothing." As long as that nothing allowed $250,000 per month credit card balances I guess.
- She repeated the oft-used and more oft-debunked China helping Cuba drill off the shore of Florida myth.
- And lastly - all our economic woes are not Bush's fault, but are the fault of the Democratically-controlled Congress, as they control the pursestrings.
So there you have it. From Churchill to good tans to cheap SOB's to China to it's all the Democrats fault.
That's the opposition folks. I'm going to donate again.
