This is not a typo. Huffington Post.
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) plans to celebrate his 72nd birthday on Aug. 29 by naming his running mate at a huge rally in the battleground state of Ohio, Republican sources said.
But it gets better!
PolitickerOH.com reported Monday morning that the event will be at the 10,000 seat Ervin J. Nutter Center, a sports and entertainment complex at Wright State University
This will not be a long post, but 3 things need to be pointed out.
If this is true then
- McCain will have one upped himself. He is already scheduled to speak at the Republican Convention on Thursday Night, Opening night of the NFL, where the World champion giants will be playing. Now he is going to go to Ohio on the day after the Dem convention on a Friday, (low ebb of the news cycle.)
- McCain will be speaking at a 10,000 seat venue. Has anyone asked whether John should speak at a 10,000 seat venue? Will they be able to fill it? If so, how will McCain react? Large audiences are not his forte.
- He is holding it at the NUTTER center! I've actually been there, and its a fine facility but won't the words in everyone's mind is, well isn't this appropriate.
just sayin'.
PS, It's calling attention to the fact that the Senior Center is older than Reagan was in his second term, AKA the NAncy runs things years.
