I think that we have reached a time of maximum density as far as the ridiculousness of our politics, the parties involved in it, and the media covers it.
As I see it, here is the current state of affairs in our politics and this political race. See if you can make any sense of this, because I sure as Hell can't.
All of this can be said of our Republican nominee:
He, like our last President, got to where he is by family connections alone.
- His installment in the naval academy was due to being daddy and granddaddy's little boy, as they were both admirals. McCain is a lifelong underachiever as a student, and rewarded the Navy's genorousity by being almost dead last in his class.
- Despite being at the rock bottom, he somehow gets admitted to the Navy's presigious fighter pilot program (sounds like another dummy flyer I know) where he has the dubious distinction of losing 5 planes.
- His second wife is a multimillionaire, and he uses that money and his father-in-law's connections to get into congress.
McCain was involved in the Keating scandal, with his actions causing him to be rebuked by Congress. The man he supported was a top contributor and later a convicted felon.
McCain cheated repeatedly on his crippled wife, and then dumper her for someone more attractive and rich.
This heiress has a half sister who has never been recognized by her, her father, or the Henley family.
At the time of his death, Cindy McCain was the sole inheritor of the estate, with his first daughter getting a whopping $10,000. Thanks dad.
After his divorce from his crippled first wife, McCain's mother piled on for suing her for McCain family "treasures" which seem to be of a value less than $5,000. Despite the record of the lawsuit, McCain's mother says it never happened and says she will back that up by "swearing on the Bible." McCain's first wife confirms the suit, and the McCain campaign says he suit was filed "accidentally."
McCain later filed lawsuit against a company for throwing out more McCain treasures asking for $1 million for the disposal of some more McCain treasures, including letters he sent to his first wife during his time as a POW. Apparently McCain feels the letters to his first wife were worth more than marriage itself, which he threw in the dumpster after meating Cindy Hensley.
Cindy fakes narcotic prescriptions and steals them from her charity. Despite an investigation and being caught by the DEA, somehow rich Cindy evades going to prison.
Despite all of this, the main stories in the media include:
Obama should wear a flag pen and stop acting so confident and presidential while his wife hates America.
Where else but this country could two people who:
- pulled themselves out of poverty by their own merit
- gaining degrees from prestigious universities for which they had to pay back student loans;
- creating some personal wealth by working hard and by self-authoring a book on his own story;
- and rising up through local politics to challenge for the office of the President of the United States
be labeled as out of touch elites who hate this country. As an extra insult they are being accused of that by a campaign and its supporters whose candidate has 8 residences and their success story is based on daddy's money.
Now do you understand my cynicism?
Can you explain to me, given the above, how the media is "liberal?"
