Ok, so you think I'm kidding right? The time for change is indeed permeating the Zion curtain. And as long as McCain doesn't choose Mitt, I think this is a trend that only bodes well for all our downticket races which I will get to after the jump as well.
As reported today in the Salt Lake Tribune
Through the end of July, disclosure forms show Obama raised almost $5 for every $4 his Republican rival netted from Utah donors.
Obama's campaign said he has raised $706,046 in Utah; McCain raised $595,320.
It's from an AP press release and the link to the way short article is here:

And here is a link to the FEC data page which also shows the numbers. Is this incredible or what? Do you believe what you are reading? I'm thinking it could be a dream! Someone pinch me!
Now I suppose it could be due to the fact that Obama did so well in the primary here and Mitt sucked up all the Republican money early on. But the fact remains that Utahns are not ponying up for McSame.

So how does that help the downticket races? Words in Action had two great diaries describing why hope springs eternal here in Ut. You can find them here

And now that I've got your attention, for those of you who realize that it is in our best interest to turn Utah as blue as the sky above Canyonlands, here is an actblue page for the Utah state senate races - some of which were lost last time by only 17 and 20 votes!!!!! It seriously won't cost all that much to start a tidal wave of change here in Utah. Just like Montana, just like Colorado.
HOPE!
