Matt Yglesias, freshly established over at Think Progress, goes with Sebelius:
Veep Day is tomorrow, by all accounts. My against-the-grain prediction: Sebelius. What do you think?
This follows Atrios predicting Sebelius a few days ago:
Okay, my money's on Sebelius, based on deep sources within the campaign nothing at all.
It is a bit out-of-nowhere, at first, but think of the narrative.
Americans look to Washington to provide security. Instead, we see wrongheaded misadventures abroad, our troops on extended tours, while America suffers.
Kathleen Sebelius fought for our security. She worked across party lines and passed a National Guard Bill of Rights. She took on the Bush administration for sending our brave guardsman to Iraq when we needed them to protect us here at home. Smart leadership for better security. Not the same old Washington.
When Kansans faced a huge budget deficit, she worked in a bipartisan fashion to balance the budget and increase education funding, without raising taxes...
And on, and on. Smart, bipartisan leadership, not the same old Washington. Fits into the broader Obama narrative perfectly.
Not a narrative I could come up with about Biden, for example, who is talked up for his foreign policy cred, but voted for the war.
