I am a member of The United Steelworkers at local 169 in Mansfield, Oh. This December will mark my twenty fifth anniversary of working in the mill. All of my career, I have been told to get active and be involved in our community, and I have. I have always been the boots on the ground, whether it be manning phone banks, knocking on doors or attending rallies. This past fall I decided to search out who was going to be our candidate for our congressional seat. Our district hasn't sent a democrat to Washington as a representative since 1936.
Our current congressman, Jim Jordan, says he is for families but his voting record doesn't back that up. He has received a grade of F from themiddleclass.org. In my search of seeing who was going to run, it become apparent that we Dems were going to let Jordan have a free pass. I just couldn't let that happen. I took out petitions and gathered more than enough signatures to file to be a candidate. I felt a need to get working families issues into this election. I waited until the last minute to file, in case a well known name might decide to go for it. No one did so here I am, the Democratic nominee for congress in Ohio's 4th congressional district. I received a record number of votes for a Dem in our primary. My message of being an average Ameican worker, one who is fed up with the direction this country is going plays very well this year. All to often we elect, and send to Washington, professional politicians. They don't live with the fear of their job being cut, or their plant or business shutting down like we do. I think it's time we send a member of the working class to Washington. Do you agree? If you do, I need your help. I need everyone to spread my name around, and my website www.mikeforohio.com. If you like what you see, consider donating securely online via ActBlue. This is the year. I am seeing so many people getting active and involved this year. It is awesome. I believe with a little help getting my message out I can win this seat this year.
Thank You so much
