All Right, I properly inflated my tires, had my engine tuned, got an oil change, cleaned my fuel system, and got an application of Rain-X, I was ready for Denver '08!
I'm blogging for NorthDecoder.com as a member of the state blogger corps, and here is the brief summary of the trip down here and the chaos of the first day. I pulled out of Fargo Friday morning to do a job that would end me up halfway to my destination that evening: Lake Tschida, where I met up with Chad, my co-blogger. We stayed overnight there and took off in the morning to make the trip down. We went thtough the Black Hills, through the open country of Wyoming, down to the mile high city. It was a long drive that took us 12 hours. We got in yesterday around 7.
Woke up this morning and slowly made our way out of the house to the light rail system. We stopped at the Sheraton and got our blogger credentials. We also found our first Swag bags. Included from the DNC were an AT&T "thanks for giving us immunity" lapel pin, a bottle of water, a nalgene bottle, a credential holder(what we really were looking for), a "plant this card" card, a can of juice, a wind energy tie tack, a guide to denver, hand sanitizer, breath mints, and a boatload(well, a bagload) of other stuff. Then off to the second item of business this morning: the Big Tent. so a bus ride on renewable fuels and a short walk later we arrived at the tent, grabbed our credentials and another swag bag. This was loaded with two books(good reading material for the ride home it looks like), four good magazines including a copy of "The Nation", and a couple others, a coffee cup mad out of renewable materials that grants me a free cup upstairs it sounds like, and a bunch of stuff from local Denver businesses. I'm impressed.
We are now sitting in Illegal Pete's having finished our breakfast burritos, mooching free internet. Anyone else around?
I'm excited to see what the next four days will bring. we'll be blogging, twittering, uttering, zanneling, and picasaing away as things come in.
