The AP reports that The GOP opens "war room" at Democratic convention.
I knew they liked to start wars, but is this compensation for not being able to attack Iran yet. Just what are the justifications for this war?
- We have conlcusive evidence that the Democrats have WMD's in the convention center. It's a slam dunk.
- The British have learned that the Democratic Party has acquired its presidential candidate from Africa. (Took me a while to get that one to sixteen words).
- There are high level connections between the Democratic Party and Iraq. The CIA has discovered that their candidate made a secret trip their just three weeks ago.
- Howard Dean is a bad guy.
- We want to bring democracy to the Democratic Party.
The story reports that
A staff of two dozen has set up shop in temporary workspace up the road from the Pepsi Center and thousands of journalists. Security at the war room is tight to avoid problems with Democratic protesters.
Great. They are setting up their own little Green Zone in Denver. This should go well.
And how pathetic is this
The GOP is aiming to grab the spotlight from the Democrats. Minnesota GOP Gov. Tim Pawlenty's is scheduled to visit Denver on Thursday — before that night's main event — to highlight the fact that the GOP convention is right around the corner.
The GOP convention is getting so little attention that they are going to the DNC to try to tell people about it.
And
The GOP theme is "Not Ready '08" with the tagline of, "A Mile High, an Inch Deep." Clearly, the war room is aimed at whacking Obama at every turn. The message is that Obama is a celebrity not qualified for the White House.
They have a theme for our convention.
But don't worry.
It remains to be seen how effective the GOP effort will be. A tour for television crews Sunday afternoon attracted just a handful of journalists, though all three broadcast networks came through at some point in the day. About a dozen print reporters took a look as well.
Looks like its going about as well as their last war.
