The selection of Sarah Palin by John McCain as his choice to be VP made me think for a moment how fortunate the Democratic Party is to enjoy an embarassment of riches when it comes to candidates for VP.
I thought of John McCain desperately trying to find a woman to promote as his selection, his motivation appearantly to try to attract some of Senator Clinton supporters.
I thought, gee, isnt Senator Clinton a far better candidate than this Sarah Palin? Would her supporters really think that Sarah was a suitable Hillary substitute?
Than it hit me
The most suitable women to run for POTUS, or VP candidates are ALL Democrats.
Senator Clinton, nothing needs to be said about what her qualifications are who she is. She is clearly a leader of a movement.
Other very highly regarded female leaders:
Kathleen Sebelius
Janet Napolitano
Claire McCaskill
Not a VP or POTUS candidate but surely a leader:
Nancy Pelosi
Donna Brazile
Barbara Boxer
Dianne Feinstein
Up and coming leaders like Debra Wasserman Schultz
Im missing many brilliant woman on my list. The point is to highlight the striking differnce between the Democratic Party and the GOP.
John McCain decided he needed a woman as his VP, that said: He had Condi, Kay Bailey or Sarah Palin as choices.
So here we are.
We have the least qualified VP candidate in history being tapped this morning. Today every voter in the country should be flocking to the Democratic party.
On towards November.
