Many in the conventional media have been quick to laud the high popularity of Sarah Palin in her home state of Alaska, but what they fail to say is that Alaska is one of the most Republican states in the nation.
Alaska's demographics, population and political party preferences do not even come close to reflecting those of the United States of America.
For one thing, since becoming a state, except for 1964, Alaska has voted for the Republican party's nominee for president every time (overwhelmingly voting for George W. Bush both times), so their support of Palin doesn't really say that much.

According to Rasmussen Reports President Bush’s job approval rating tends to track better in Alaska than much of the rest of the country. Thirty-seven percent (37%) say the President is doing a good or an excellent job while 46% rate his performance as poor. Nationwide, as of July 13, 2008, Bush's approval rating was at 28%, while 69% disapproved.
Again, the majority of the voters in the state of Alaska have overwhelmingly supported the failed presidency of George Bush, so no one should be surprised that they support Palin, her support of Big Oil, and her extremely right wing positions.
Palin and McCain mean more of the same!
Sarah Palin, when it comes to experience and policy, pales in comparison to Joe Biden.
Barack Obama has demonstrated once again, by his better choice of a running mate, why he is ready to lead, and that he is the one who truly puts his Country First!
