Emergency room closed at St. Anthony's? There is a news story that two emegency rooms have been shut down due to workers and/or people at a manufacturing plant being exposed to chemicals. There are reports of some deaths. No updates available in press. I wondered if any Kos people work there?
There was a scroll at the bottom of CNN TV stating at least two deaths and two two hospital emegency rooms in St. Louis area had been quarantined. I waited to hear more, but with everything else going on, no info has been forthcoming. I googled St. Louis Quarantine Emergency room and found sveral stories, verifying and also saying that press calls were not being answered.
EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill.---- Two people reportedly died and several others were hospitalized after exposure to a dangerous chemical at a storage and mixing plant, a city official said Sunday.
At least eight people were sickened by exposure to the chemical on Saturday and two emergency rooms remained under quarantine Sunday at two St. Louis hospitals where some of those who were sickened sought treatment.
In a statement issued early Sunday, East St. Louis City Manager Robert Betts said two people had died. Betts also confirmed the deaths on Saturday evening at the scene of the incident to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
But the names of the fatalities and details of their deaths were not released later Sunday, when questions were raised about the number of deaths related to the incident.
Messages left at Betts' office and on his cell phone Sunday by The Associated Press were not immediately answered. Messages also were left with Jim Silvernail, the fire chief in the Mehlville Fire Protection District in Missouri.

st. Louis news story
Authorities this afternoon closed emergency rooms at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in South County and at DePaul Health Center in Bridgeton after several people entered the hospitals after being exposed to a white powdery substance, according to health and fire officials.
East St. Louis fire officials have a hazmat team at 8th and Market streets, where they're investigating a chemical incident.
I am just wondering if there are any Kos readers who might know more, or know first hand.
