Given the way that poor Joe Lieberman was abysmally treated by John McCain and the Republican Party, stringing him along and then dumping him at the last minute, in favor of Sara Somebody, I think it's time that those who have loyally supported Ol' Holy Joe for so long should show their contempt for the way he's been treated by -- voting for Barack Obama.
We all know that Joe's got to be a good soldier, and he may even speak at the Republican Convention on John McCain's behalf. But we know that deep inside Joe is deeply, deeply wounded.
[Just picture Joe Lieberman, at this point, with his head half hanging in shame, his mouth drooping, looking ever so sad that his good friend could treat him like this.]
There's only one way to get back at the Republican institutions that have so hurt our Joe: vote for Barack Obama. It's true that Barack espouses none of the foreign policy positions that Joe has made his stock in trade, but that doesn't matter -- the point is revenge for a perceived slight.
Friends, unless John McCain bends over backward to appease Joe Lieberman -- maybe by stepping aside to give him the nomination -- it's time for all Liebercans and Liebercrats to show that they truly support our Joe (no matter what he says) by voting for Barack Obama.
