John McCain is 72 years old running for the highest, most difficult office in the nation. The daily stress and rigors of the Presidency has been said to put many a good men in an early grave. The job of Vice-President is one that should never be taken lightly. Whoever a President taps to be second in command should be prepared to lead this nation. They are in fact just a heart beat away from becoming our Commander-in-Chief.
So, knowing what we know about John McCain's medical history, the trying times of a president, and the importance of the Vice-President to step in a lead, who did John McCain select to be his running mate? None other than the 1 1/2 year governor, Sarah Palin.
It truly is a scary move, for America and the world. For a quick moment let's dissect the choices of both McCain and Obama.
Sarah Palin:
*Gov. of Alaska, January 2007-Present.
*Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commissioner, 2003-2004
*Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, 1996-2006 (8,471)
*Wasilla City Council, 1992-1996
Joe Biden:
*United States Senator January 1973-Present
*Two-time chairman of the Senate Foreign Relation's Committee
*Former Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee
*Subcommittee on Antitrust Competition Policy and Consumer Rights
*Subcommittee on Crime and Drugs (chairman)
*Subcommittee on Human Rights and the Law
*Subcommittee on Immigration, Border Security, and Refugees
*Subcommittee on Technology Terrorism and Homeland Security
*Caucus on International Narcotics Control (co-chairman)
*New Castle County Council, 1970-1972
*Has visited Iraq more times that McCain and Palin combined
In short, I will be comforted knowing that Joe Biden will lead this nation if, God forbid, something were to happen to Barack Obama. On the other hand, due to political purposes, John McCain has chosen a woman who is in no way fit to lead. Let's all hope and pray we never have to utter the words, "Vice-President Palin", and certainly not, "President Palin".
Will you be able to sleep at night? I know I won't. So, if that phone rings at 3am, believe you me, I'll be answering it before Mrs. Palin even rises from her beauty-sleep slumber.
