I'm a white guy who ventured into a black section of San Antonio, Texas today to buy some fried chicken. Sometimes I get this indescribalble urge for fried chicken. When that happens, nothing can satisfy the urge other than to go get some.
I like "all dark" chicken meat.
At the counter was the cutest little black girl I've ever seen.
I was sort of messing around with her, asking "What if I get this without that", and what if I get this with this, and what if.
What if...
Anyway, to make a long story short, during the whole time I was asking her question about the fried chicken, she kept flashing a big grin.
It was like she was having fun with me, or something. And her grin was like Obama's. A big appealing grin with big white flashing teeth.
I finally placed my order for 15 pieces of dark meat chicken for $7.99.
Then she said, "Now you go sit down and I'll bring it out to you".
I sat down for about 1 minute and she brought out the chicken. Then she flashed that big smile. I melted. I gave her a dollar tip. Then her smile really lit up.
On the way home, I couldn't stand the smell any longer, so I had to eat a drumstick while driving. Not a good idea, but that's what I did.
Anyway, my point here is this: I just love the young kids. They don't seem to see black and white. They see love. So do I.
I'm loving this chicken.
