Thanks to the power of new technology, I'm putting the Idaho Senate race in the people's hands again tonight.
Beginning at 8pm ET tonight, Independent Rex Rammell and I will be holding our second online debate in the race for U.S. Senate here in Idaho -- and once again, we'll be broadcasting the debate on the internet and taking questions live from folks like you watching it online, right here at DailyKos and across the internet.
Tonight's forum uses the power of technology to put the debate in your hands. So please, join us below the fold to watch the debate and ask your questions in real-time starting at 8pm ET!
Yet again, we've invited Jim Risch to join us. Will he show up? Only time will tell.
One thing, though, is for sure: The people of Idaho are responding to these debates. During our first debate, over 1,700 people tuned in live online to learn about our positions and ask questions of their own.
Through these online debates, Rex and I are bypassing the traditional media filter and communicating directly with each other and with you and with the people of Idaho. That's why I'm so excited about tonight's debate.
Apparently Jim Risch thinks that by avoiding these debates, he can avoid talking face-to-face with Idahoans about the issues that matter to them -- a desperate tactic of a candidate who's too afraid to stand up and clearly state his views. Not only do Risch and his GOP elite friends dodge debates, but they also tried to eliminate the competition by filing a frivolous complaint against Rammell -- which the Idaho Supreme Court struck down last week -- and had U.S. Rep. Bill Sali, R-Idaho, call and ask third party candidates to drop out.
Hopefully Jim Risch will start acting like a serious candidate and face the voters of Idaho by joining us for these debates. Regardless, Rex and I are ready and willing to face the public and talk about this issues that matter.
So enjoy tonight's debate -- and make sure to ask your questions! I hope we can answer as many as possible during our live, online forum. Thanks!
