The news that agents of the Department of the Interior have been consorting with oil company workers in Denver, sleeping with them, sharing drugs with them, should come as no surprise.
Those Interior Department workers who were reported in a investigation to have been having drug and sex fests while they were supposed to have been monitoring the oil company workers they were frolicking with.
Obama should explain that this is what happens when government is not held accountable until billions of dollars have been wasted. Obama should use this incident as an example of the waste and fraud of this administration, the Bush/Cheney oil men, and the way oil has held a monopoly over our lives for years.
It should be used as an argument not only for better and more stringent government accountability, but also for increased focus on wind, solar, hydroelectric and geothermal, among other, sources, and increased research on additional sources of energy.
It should be used as an argument and example of what happens when greed becomes the process, product and goal of an administration that makes a low priority out of planning, both of government, and natural resources.
It should be used as an argument that this administration, from the top down, has mocked and abused its authority, and until we have real change from the bottom up in Washington, this sort of corruption will not only continue, but will be par for the course, and really no longer a surprise to anyone.
