Amidst the "lipstick" coverage over the past couple days, I find myself metaphorically beating my head into a table. This is news? The news media is allowing this to be news? To vent my frustration, I made an attack ad based on the theme that John McCain wants to talk about "lipstick" instead of the issues (coded to mean "the economy"). Here's the video, complete with overly dramatic, brooding music. There're no narration right now so you'll have to read along with the script, which you can get here:

I don't have a good voice for it, so could someone help me out and read the narration? Just let me know in the comments if you're interested, and we'll work something out.
I really like using this word "lipstick" to describe the McCain campaign's tactics. It's short and silly, the kind of thing that will stick (no pun intended) in people's minds. It's also a way to make the argument that McCain is distracting people from the most important campaign issues, without having to make the whole argument over and over again.
We need to be more on the offensive, because the other side is getting away with murder. Gov. Palin is waltzing around lying to people with her "thanks but no thanks" line, and apparently that's acceptable. However, making a statement that Republicans are twisting into some kind of sexist attack? That's news!
The phony outrage over "lipstick" had Republican operatives scrambling to make a connection to Sarah Palin's "bulldog with lipstick" line from her convention speech. Then it turned out that Obama has used this expression many times in the past. John McCain has also repeatedly used this expression, and anyone with half a brain knows that the expression isn't sexist in and of itself. So when Republicans had trouble making a direct connection, they claimed that the people in the audience were thinking about Sarah Palin, even if Barack Obama wasn't. Apparently GOP operatives are telepathic or clairvoyant. That's a neat trick.
Hopefully the Obama campaign will come to it's senses and start fighting back. Let me know in the poll if you think my ad has the right tone for moving forward, and feel free to leave constructive criticism in the comments.
UPDATE: About 30 seconds after I posted, votes were already coming in at the poll, which doesn't seem long enough to read the script. Please, please, please, make sure you read the script with with the video before you vote. That's where the meatier attack lines are.
