Sarah Palin- Pyrite is so deceptively appealing at a crucial time.
What is Pyrite? The more common term is fool's gold. Pyrite is called fool's gold because its brassy yellow color is very similar to gold. Although it looks like gold, its other physical properties are very different. Pyrite is harder, less dense, and more brittle....you know where I'm going with this? It leaves a greenish-black streak while gold leaves a golden-yellow one. However, pyrite is often associated with the presence of gold and copper, and locating fool's gold may mean the real thing isn't far off.
Pyrite is the most common of the sulfide minerals and can be found worldwide.
Interestingly enough there are so many juxtapositions here.
Democrats, even in the primary race were definitely impassioned with their candidates. Leaving the republicans to sneer, jeer and envy the stirrings of emotions, excitement and pride of their opponents. Enter Sara Palin.
Remember when you wished for something so badly as a child yet had to stand by glumly while some other kid gleefully parades around with what you felt should be yours by right? Republicans were reliving that memory for days, weeks and months.
How about those amazing infomercials and impossibly, too good to be true gimmicks on TV. The secret, magic diet pill that would make everyone of us look like Ken or Barbie. Or the moneymaking machines that would have us rolling in 100 dollar bills, working 5 months a year, drinking pina coladas along a sun kissed beach. Send money, your trust and votes; GOTCHA!!! and McCain has ONE more house to add to his seven.
And an oldie but a timely goody, Pyrite/fool's gold. This century's version of Alaska's gold rush is in full throttle. Pyrite looks good for awhile but if knocked around enough and not handled with care, the gold likeness fades into a dull replacement of the real thing. Think about those who will strike it big and all those who will be poorer off than before or during the rush, because the losers will be devastated, helpless and hopeless.
Sarah Palin Pyrite is the Fool's gold, the infomercial, the scam, the impostor to what everyone wishes and this nations yearns for. The crowds are lining up, taking the bait and the GOP hope that time doesn't turn on them before the election. They can deal with reality later like they have the past two elections and with Bush. Time for the undecideds to have a gut check and assess their emotions and rediscover sensibility because that's why scams work. Everyone wants an answer, a solution, a leader but most of us know without time, merit and true challenges to test and prove, it's most likely a scam.
