The "Pig" is 40 million uninsured, and the "Lipstick" is McCain's "new" policy which will only make things worse.
The Republican Policy Pig gave us a $9 trillion national debt, $30,000 for each one of us, and the Lipstick is McCain's tax cut mostly for millionaires, which will further cripple our economy.
The Republican policies gave us our lost manufacturing base, our trade deficit, our dependence on fossil fuels, our endangered middle class, and our collapsing financial sector.
McCain's plans to fix all this are the same old Bush Republican policies written in lipstick.
When the press, or our friends and family, talk about pigs, lipstick or "bitter" people, we need to respond with how Obama's policies will make this country stronger. Don't get caught explaining some obscure point.
If you ask the average low-information voter about Bush's, and now McCain's, position on most things, you will get a quick answer. Economy? "Oh, he'll cut taxes." Energy? "He says drill."
We need to put the same certainty in their minds about Obama's policies. Here are some things voters need to know:
--Obama Will Cut Your Taxes. (Unless your take-home pay is over a Quarter Million Dollars a Year) Most voters think Obama will raise THEIR taxes. It's a testament to how bad things are that so many plan to vote for him anyway.
--Obama Will Give You The CHOICE To Enroll in a Comprehensive, Affordable Health Plan. It's your choice, it's not mandatory, and it's not socialized medicine. You can keep your crummy expensive plan if you don't mind only 65% of your money going to doctors and hospitals, or you can stay uninsured if you don't mind risking your family's lives. But you will have a better Choice.
--Obama will close the loopholes that led to the Enron, Bear Sterns, Fannie Mae, Lehman and Merrill Lynch fiascos that cost you hundreds of billions of dollars. It was reckless speculation that led to the Great Depression. Sensible laws were passed to prevent that ever happening again. Those protections have been erased over the last 30 years.
If it's about the issues, we win, because the Republicans are wrong about all the important issues.
