ROCHESTER, NY -- So as I wake this a.m. I note, what makes any one of us think that we are patients and not ledger sheet items in this healthcare mess? On one side of the equation we are known as medical losses and on the other side as chronic revenue...
As Lehman Bros collapses and the B of A buys up Merrill Lynch, where do you suppose the investments of health insurance giants or for-profit providers rest? Somewhere in this market mess, I can assure you.
The only place where you and I are patients is when we are with our nurses and doctors.
In every other area of this for-profit mess of a system, we are line-items on a balance sheet. And when that balance sheet is under siege, so are we.
God help us all.
Get busy, my friends. Elect people who know the healthcare system needs to be single payer, publicly funded and privately delivered. Else, the collapse will be measured in more than a run on the banks -- it will be measured by more death in disguise.
