So CNN has taken Drudge's lead. CNN is running a story now that says some Republican Florida women's group is calling for a boycott of Oprah's Show.

Now, I do not regularly watch Oprah's Show, but I doubt too many Florida Republican women do anyway. But one question I haven't see asked is whether Sarah Palin actually has asked to be on Oprah's Show.
I doubt she wants to go there. She doesn't seem to want to go anywhere where she might be asked a hard question. Cindy McCain is today trashing the View for asking her tough questions.
But after several Drudge headlines on this. Oprah has stated her policy, which seems reasonable, that she does not want to have any of the candidates on her show now that she has publicly supported one. She is obviously not objective. So if someone goes on her show and gets tough questions they can say -- well, obviously Oprah was biased.
But I think it is the height of journalistic irresponsibility to publicize a boycott saying Oprah has "refused" to put Sarah Palin on her show, when Sarah Palin hasn't asked to be on her show.
Some journalist should ask -- "Governor Palin, have you asked to be on Oprah's Show and been refused?" if she says no, then there is no controversy. Just another Republican fake controversy. And any news reports should start with the lead "Palin refuses to go on Oprah's Show."
If she says yes, she has asked. Or that she would go on if asked. Well, then, Oprah may want to reconsider, put her on the show and ask her some real questions. But given that Palin's next interview is with Sean Hannity, and "The View" was too tough a forum for the McCains, I doubt Palin is looking for any tough questions Oprah might throw her way.
