We had a picture perfect day today in Northwest Colorado for Senator Obama's speech. It had been 60 years since the last Democratic candidate, Harry Truman had been to Grand Jct. There were several thousand people - 6,000 according to immediate news reports. I heard of people coming from Utah and throughout the Western part of the state. NW counties like Eagle (my home), Routt, Grand, Summit, Montrose, Garfield, Pitkin, Delta, San Miguel, Delta and Mesa were represented.
Initially the campaign had asked people to contact their local organizers to request tickets. Then yesterday they sent a notice that due to overwhelming response, they were adding more space and anyone could line up to hear Senator Obama. This photo is of the line of those without tickets waiting to get in. I understand that everyone did get in.
More on the flip. Flip it good.
