On September 9, John McCain announced the formation of the "Palin Truth Squad". It consisted of a bunch of mostly female Republicans, trying to "set the record straight against Internet and liberal smears of Governor Palin." Their first act was... 'lipstick on a pig'.
A few days ago, I noticed that the group didn't have its own website. So I built a site for the Palin Truth Squad! Have a look!
The inspiration for this whole effort was the name 'Palin Truth Squad.' It's a group of Republicans who are doing to the truth what a vice squad does to vice, or what a bomb squad does to bombs. That's the point of the banner:

It's something that I'd recommend doing in the future, when your local Republican does something mockable. Register a domain name, grab the source code for their site, and you can quickly make a parody site.
I'm not super-skilled at web design, but it didn't take long. I just grabbed the McCain site's source code and chopped out the parts of it I didn't want. I used Seashore (a poor man's photoshop for Mac) to build a parody banner. I didn't use any images they were hosting, because then they can mess with your site by changing the image.
Unfortunately, palintruthsquad.com was already taken and I had to get the name thepalintruthsquad.com. I really should have a quicker trigger finger on these things.
But I still own bridge2nowhere.com. If any brave Kossacks have an interest in taking that URL and building an exciting site off of it, I'd be happy to hand it over for free.
Anyway, if anybody has suggestions for how I can improve the site, please let me know. I'm happy to see that the McCain-Palin lying narrative is finally starting to take hold in the media, and maybe a funny site like this can be helpful in reinforcing it.
