Well thanks to democrats getting on the game and McCain picking a VP that has more serious baggage and lack of experience as any VP choice in decades... Well there is little hope of him winning the presidency this year.
Yes there is still hope of course. Democrats could get complacent and not keep up the offensive. (So keep it up!) He is still quite a challenger on his own. And one has to note the genius in his "weakness" attack that managed to get him at the top for a very short time. There is always a chance he could find a way to do it again.
Yet that is sort of unlikely. Mainly due to the fact that from this point on he will have to play defensive as more and more damaging info is found on his VP selection.
So assuming that we do keep up the offensive and McCain is defeated in November. What is next?
McCain came back after a stunning defeat by Bush with a HUGE political offensive against his rival. Sealing the image of Maverick that gained him more political power than he could dream of...
Thus I do believe that McCain will be even more powerful when he returns to congress. I suspect he will organize the republicans into a big resistance against democratic changes and attempts to bring former Bush cronies into justice.
We have seen how weak democrats can be. All you have to do is say "Obstructionist" and your average dem from Congress will fold faster than an overclocked PS3. (First who gets that joke winz the internets)
So while I am confident of an Obama win as long as we keep working hard and organizing the vote. I am not confident that we can hold against 4 years of republican onslaught led by John McCain.
Get ready for some serious political battles in congress folks!
