If Obama want's to blow this whole "Country First" lie all to hell and back all he has to do is ask "Why not Condi Rice?" She stands head and shoulders above the rest as the most qualified woman candidate. She actively sought the role back in the spring. McCain needs to answer why Palin is a better choice and how her choice puts country first and not the religious right.
It's amazing to me how hypocritical the Republicans are. Just a few weeks ago they were squawking about Obama not vetting his vetters and now we find that they are only getting around to vetting her now after the fact.
What does it say about the judgment of a man to overlook the qualifications in Ms. Rice to pander to the agents of intolerance?
What does it say about a man who offered the most demanding and responsible job in the world to a person he had only met once? A woman with a four month old special needs child. A woman with a teen daughter that will desperately need her in the months and years to come? To even offer, to me, was highly insensitive to her family's needs.
They say the kids shouldn't be part of this election. Sarah has asked for privacy for her family. She should have given them that same respect by turning down the job. She has thrust her daughter into the national spotlight by her own/and John McCain's choice for simple ambition.
John McCain did the same thing to his first family. He abandoned them to pursue the means to launch his career. No wonder he called her his "soulmate".
The point that there were far more qualified people and even women in the party should be pointed out over and over. This is simply Rovian branding "country first". Just like the "Patriot" act curtailed your liberties and the "Clean Air" act lowered restrictions on pollution.
Country First is exactly what they say it isn't.
It's ambition first, family last and country had nothing to do with it whatsoever.
