Everyone probably remembers the brouhaha over Barack Obama's decision not to visit wounded troops in Germany - right?
In summary, Obama, who had visited wounded troops in Kuwait - without any press or photographers - was informed that a visit to the wounded troops in Germany, for some reason, would be considered a "political campaign" event (even though his plans, again, included no press or photographers,) so he (wisely, IMO,) decided to cancel it, to not politicize our wounded troops.
While perusing RedState this morning, I saw that Sarah Palin thinks it's fine to use photos of her visit to the same facility, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany, as an excellent opportunity for a photo-op:
and a comment responding to this use of a wounded soldier for a photo-op calls it a
Great picture and tells me that this woman is a better American than Obama could ever desire to be.
So I looked a bit further and found this image, which appears to be on the AK government website.
Using the wounded troops as political coin: IOKIYAR.
Update
You really can not make this stuff up:
Before she was on the national stage and before anyone would notice. She cared. She cares. Her oldest son joined the Army in 2007. Remember that Obama wouldn't visit the Army Hospital in Germany because he couldn't bring along his public relations and press crew? Here is picture of Palin at bedside of a wounded soldier
That pic is on the wiki, as is this one.
