I did it. It was so easy you wouldn't even believe it.
What if I told you that you could take that one, measly little vote you have and turn it into 2, or 3, or 4-or more!!
That's right, people. Canvassing. I live in St. Louis, Missouri and I don't care if Nate on 538 says we can't win in MO. Went out with a nice lady and her 8 month old son and her 7 year old daughter today for Barack Obama.
Oh yeah, she hauled her two kids around with us, strapping and unstrapping her crazy-looking baby holder about 6 times while we got out and went into different neighborhoods, asking people if they supported Sen. Obama, and if they were registered to vote. Guess what. We weren't assaulted, yelled at, accosted, insulted, maligned or any other really bad thing. In fact, it was an invigorating, refreshing walk.
I registered an 18 year old kid who had never voted before.
I ensured that 3 other people who were between homes would have a place to vote on Nov. 4th.
Furthermore, I guaranteed that at least 3 other people, whose family said they weren't currently registered at that location, got fresh, crisp Missouri voter registration cards.
How long did it take to accomplish such miracles? A week of slogging down street after street?
Nope. Did it in 3 hours. Got up on Saturday, had a great breakfast, went out registerin', and now I'm at home, enjoying the baseball game. Hardly a blip of an interruption in my precious day.
If I can do it, and that nice lady who took her two small children could do it, well guess what...
