My friends, the financial crisis facing this country is unprecedented.
We haven't faced a crisis this severe since World War II, and it's a time for reflection, a time for coming together . . . a time to be Americans, and not Kossacks.
And so, I must announce, that I will be suspending my life to respond to the crisis.
Since a large part of my life is spent here at Daily Kos, I will be leaving you (unless the bailout is passed by Friday).
I call on all DailyKos members who I had planned to debate with this Friday (including delawaredem, DHinMI, and kingsbridge77) to postpone our debate so that we can focus on rescuing this economy.
Americans do not want to hear Kossacks debating foreign policy and the political horserace when the fates of the investment bankers who screwed us into this position hang in the balance, awaiting Congress' decision.
It is also important to remember that many of us will not be in a position to blog on Daily Kos, especially those men and women who serve our country with distinction and honor. There are some who have been fighting for our freedom in this war for more than 5 and 1/2 years, and don't have the luxury to blog about politics.
And so, finally, I call upon Kos himself, to put aside the Kossackian bickering, and suspend this website itself, for the good of all America.
Thank you, my friends.
GBCW.
P.S.: In deference to John McCain, who for 5 and 1/2 years had no door, I will not be letting one hit me on the ass on the way out.
