Folks, folks...he's done it again.
Much like he did with the "celebrity" ads...Palin announcement...the lipstick on a pig ads...and more... John McCain has stolen the spotlight away from the issues.
When we talk about issues, John McCain loses. Poll after poll confirms that.
When we talk about his shenanigans, the issues are ignored. And that's good for McCain.
He's proven time and time again that he's a master of the sideshow!
And, WE fall for it. and the MEDIA falls for it. And the American public LOSES.
Today, we could be talking about Sarah Palin's wacky witch Pastoral experience....
We could be talking about Rick Davis taking funds from Fannie/Freddie...
We could be talking about the economy.
But, instead, we're talking about how John McCain suspended his campaign...all while John McCain has been campaigning!
Let's stop. Let's focus on what is important. We can hit him hard on this whole suspension thing. Create a timeline of exactly what occurred while this was supposedly "suspended". Then, tie him to BUSH. Now we have yet another picture of John McCain and Bush sitting at a table together.
Things got tough and McCain's campaign was flailing and what does he do? He turns to George W. Bush. He had Bush get Obama to Washington so that McCain can grandstand. I'm sure Bush was happy to extend the favor.
McCain supposedly put up a garbled plan that urges private sector buy in and deregulation. Say that again - DEREGULATION!??????
Let's hit him on this. Let's stop falling for his shenanigans and trying to predict what he's going to do next. He's going to do something CRAZY and DISHONEST next, because that's what he does. It wouldn't surprise me if he lets Obama start the debate alone, only to walk in halfway through to get an applause. NOTHING surprises me. That's why we can't obsess on trying to guess what a crazy man does...
Economy.
Iraq.
Afghanistan.
Education.
Health Care.
Let's talk about those!
Update: I thought this was interesting. (Emphasis added)
We're told at the White House Senator McCain offered an alternative plan that would include fewer regulations and more corporate tax breaks for businesses, kind of a private solution.
Good talking points.
