Really, I want to say a cranky old man. If his intention was to show that he was NOT a maverick. I think that he did well with that. He is still living in the 80's way of doing things and I want to add he came off to me as a warmonger.
Like we need that.
The fact that McCain did not look at Obama annoyed me. It was some sort of diss that I thought inappropriate but it showed me a man who is all about posturing.
I also thought that it was clear John McCain=Old School and Obama=New School of thought. The Old School will continue to get us into problems because they have not learned from history that some of their policies were disasters. Iraq War, Deregulation and this trickle down nonsense. And they will continue to use the same 'strategies for future problems that we face and fail, leaving us holding the basket of our dead and wounded people, the sorrows of their families.
Under John MaCain, it seems that ordinary Americans will still struggle under a more than well funded military complex while they lose their homes, no jobs and .... just no better quality of life.
After 8 years of George Bush, I do not believe that America needs another from the mold of posturing tough guy who will go and try to kick someone's ass if they cross us. Really, this is not a Western Movie.
I think Obama won the debate because he was well prepared, knew his facts and presented them to us. MaCain just huffed and puffed and to his base, I am sure they thought he was right because how John McCain treated Obama, that is probably how they treat people as well.
I do not believe that we need someone like John MaCain in the White House. His temperament and his judgment...Iraq War, Keating 5, the number of things he voted against in regards to children... No way. At the end of the day, he is a Corporate man and I wonder how many vets thought that he would really take care of them. When he said that, my skin crawled.
And at the end, Michele and Obama had to walk across the stage to MaCain and Cindy. They should have met half way. It may have been deference to MaCain's age, but my first impression was that he was posturing again. Those MaCains have no class.
Good job Obama!
