I was a little stunned to hear this in Andrea Mitchell's report on the Today show this morning. I was of the notion that Obama has been the frontrunner, except for a brief one-week bounce for McCain. Was I mistaken? When I last checked the polls, Obama is in the lead and has been for several days. In fact, Obama has been leading in the Electoral College vote throughout this entire campaign and this is the true measure of how America chooses a president.
On a day when drama queen McCain is shafting the American people, playing his game of deal or no deal, I heard no analysis of this unprecedented act of stupidity on the part of a presidential candidate. Instead, her report proceeded on another line of attack on Obama, questioning his 'cerebral debating style.' I am amazed at the extent to which the MSM will go to give cover to John McCain by changing the subject. They are doggedly sticking to the narrative that Obama is running a close race. His VP choice is imploding before our eyes, but nobody is very concerned.
If John McCain wants to play Senator, he needs to go back to the Senate. He ran for the opportunity to represent his party as the nominee and the game is now in the final quarter. Instead, Paris Hylton McCain has the entire country wondering whether or not he will show up for his first scheduled debate. We only have 39 days until the election. If I was applying for a job and I 'suspended' my efforts I would be unemployed. If I was scheduled for a job interview and had my employers twisting in the wind, wondering if I would show up, I would not have a chance in hell of getting the job and neither should McCain.
