That's where I want to see Palin. Not a debate that might elicit pity but on a show that actually might give us answers and show us how she makes decisions.
Before everyone who thinks we should lay off of Palin jumps my case you need to understand that I do NOT adhere to that train of thought. I agree with Markos that we must continue to use this choice as an example of John McCains poor judgement. If you disagree with that? Move on to other diaries.
Up top now all we have seen are interviews and off the cuff (and leash) remarks. The debate will be fraught with cries of sexism and I feel certain that the nut jobs running Mighty Mouse McCains campaign into the ground have already filmed those ads too so why not put her on "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader".
I think this is a legitimate question to ask based on some of her remarks lately such as this one on The Huffinton Post:

Couric: You met yesterday with former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who is for direct diplomacy with both Iran and Syria. Do you believe the U.S. should negotiate with leaders like President Assad and Ahmadinejad?
Palin: I think, with Ahmadinejad, personally, he is not one to negotiate with. You can't just sit down with him with no preconditions being met. Barack Obama is so off-base in his proclamation that he would meet with some of these leaders around our world who would seek to destroy America and that, and without preconditions being met. That's beyond naïve. And it's beyond bad judgment.
Couric: Are you saying Henry Kissinger ...
Palin: It's dangerous.
Couric: ... is naïve for supporting that?
Palin: I've never heard Henry Kissinger say, "Yeah, I'll meet with these leaders without preconditions being met." Diplomacy is about doing a lot of background work first and shoring up allies and positions and figuring out what sanctions perhaps could be implemented if things weren't gonna go right. That's part of diplomacy.
Or this gem from Newsweek:

"It's very important when you consider even national-security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the airspace of the United States of America. Where—where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border. It is from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are right next to—to our state."
Talking Points Memo never fails to entertain with facts:

Sarah Palin likes to tell voters around the country about how she "put the government checkbook online" in Alaska. On Thursday, Palin suggested she would take that same proposal to Washington.
"We're going to do a few new things also," she said at a rally in Cedar Rapids. "For instance, as Alaska's governor, I put the government's checkbook online so that people can see where their money's going. We'll bring that kind of transparency, that responsibility, and accountability back. We're going to bring that back to D.C."
There's just one problem with proposing to put the federal checkbook online - somebody's already done it. His name is Barack Obama.
My personal favorite? From Time, even though it shows opinions but they are based on Palins inability to string together conherent thought patterns:

A number of commentators, including The Atlantic's James Fallows and Slate's Christopher Beam, have said that Palin resembled, in Beam's words, "a high-schooler trying to BS her way through a book report," which is an insult to both high-schoolers and B.S. Palin's answers were hesitant, convoluted and at times — like when she appeared to suggest that Vladimir Putin might be preparing a one-man airborne invasion of Alaska — downright loony.
In the last couple of days 2 seperate pundits have called on Sarah Palin to step down. I see this as a bonus to our cause regardless of the fact that this woman scares me to death. I try to imagine her in the White House and it causes me to wince at the thought of her making decisions that affect my life.
