OK. Stay with me here. I want Obama to win. With Sarah Palin, our next president is going to be Barack Obama. With Mitt Romney or another running mate the outcome could change.
My wife and I had breakfast with my dad and his friend. He is old. He is McCain old, and is part of the past that I would like to forget about. He is prejudice. He is prejudice with everybody. He will make a judgement before he gets to learn anything about that person.
He is a democrat voting for McCain. He has told me that he is not going to vote for a black man. I have gone through a few months of some very uncomfortable breakfasts listening to him spew his garbage.
I have put out my best cases for Obama. He just can't get past the black thing. It's his generation. Some of them will admit it, some won't. In some places, like West Virginia it's not just old people I suppose. For the most part, I think its the older generation that has this personal problem.
Well. This morning while having breakfast he said in a low tone,
"I can't believe I am saying this, but I am going to vote for Obama"
"I can't be associated with Sarah Palin" He is fearing the day that McCain has to step down, and Sarah Palin is put in charge. He is a Navy Vet, and feels an obligation to the country, not to let another Idiot be charge of our country. We were stunned. He finally came around. He is now declaring that he will vote for Obama. For me personally this is huge. I am hearing this a lot from other people. They can't vote for McCain due to Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin is good for the democrats. My fear is that by Thursday she will be out of the race. It's just my opinion, based on very little info.
I asked him what he would do if Sarah Palin were to step down, and be replaced with Mitt Romney or Joe Lieberman for example? He said , he would vote for McCain.
We need Sarah Palin to stay in this race. At least up to the first debate.
I don't want him to have a reason to change his mind. I support Sarah Palin. You go girl! We need you.
