When playing slate's great new
whack-a-polI tried to find the minimal set of choices that I figured would absolutely knock a candidate out of the race.
I came up with the following list, which I feel are simply too far out of the mainstream:
(1) Supported making a state honor other state's gay marriages. (Earth to John Kerry: are you going out of your way to make trouble or what???)
(2) Single-payer health plan. I don't think it's necessary, and I think that at the same time we go about adding more medical support, we out to be taking shots at the patent office and FDA: we need to break the pharm monopoly, not fund it further.
Additionally, there's no way anybody that supported the $87 billion bill for Iraq will make it out of the primaries. Just no way.
That leaves the following list, which comes as no surprise at all to me:
Dean, Clark, and Edwards. These 3 guys have been my front-runner leaders since forever.
