Sure, the "high-roaders" would have you believe that Bristol Palin is a story that is off limits.
Not when discussing abortion, she isn't.
The "pro-life" position is not misguided, but invasive.
The "pro-choice" position does not mean "pro-death."
If you want to teach your children that abortions are wrong, then go right ahead. But it is wrong of you to want to force that onto people who have nothing to do with you.
The concepts of the two opposing positions in the abortion debate seems haywire to me. It's not "Pro-Life" vs "Pro-Death." The abortion debate is most powerful in the hands of parents. The "Pro-Choice" position gets chewed up and remolded by Pro-lifers as if we, as Pro-choicers, want to kill babies.
That is the most fruitcake interpretation of common sense I have ever heard!
Pro-choicers don't really care if you keep the baby or not, they care that you have a safe option should you decide to choose otherwise.
How can anyone not want that?
Once again, the debate is most powerful in the hands of parents. You have to teach your children the responsibilities of being a parent. You cannot blame society for what has happend, it is the responsibilites of the parents to do this.
Many women who were told that abortion is immoral will not abort the baby. Imagine that. Because a parent took responsibility, a child will live. You don't mandate that someone you don't know do as you say so you can set an example for your child. No. You teach your child, anyway
Bristol Palin may not have been properly educated by her mother. Maybe she was. Regardless, the failure of Gov. Palin to take responsibility for educating her daughter has made her a "proud" grandmother. Never mind the fact that if your RESPONSIBLE parents find that you will have a baby out of wedlock at a young age, they aren't exactly too proud off the bat.
Yes, Bristol is keeping the baby. But Mama and Uncle John wouldn't give her a choice.
She is extremely strong in her decision, and that is fine. Congratulations to her and her new daughter.
Once again, the abortion debate is most powerful in the hands of the parents.
Remember Obama's "Father's Day" speech?
"Time and time again, John McCain was proven wrong and Barack Obama was right."
