First we are in a contest with other great Democrats through the Blue America PAC and Howie from Down With Tyranny, one of the sponsor blog sites, contacted me with the info that REM had donated through the contest to our effort. I am asking you to join them, and give if you can here
Second, my opponent, Mike Pence was supposed to speak at the RNC tonight and was cancelled.
ST. PAUL, Minn. (WISH) - The pace picks up in St. Paul tonight at the Republican National Convention.
Congressman Mike Pence was scheduled to deliver a speech tonight, but at around 11 a.m. he was informed he's off the schedule.
Organizers said it's because of reshuffling after Monday's cancellation.

My response and more below
Here is a segment from his speech posted on WISHTV8 Website
John McCain knows we must lessen our dependence on foreign oil.
But Democrats have refused to even take a vote on an energy bill that includes more drilling.
We have one message to the Democrats in Washington:
Speaker Nancy Pelosi, you can turn off the lights on the House floor and shut off the mics, but you cannot silence the voice of millions of Americans who say:
Drill more, drill here, drill now!
John McCain's energy plan will unleash our richest renewable resource: American ingenuity. In addition to giving the American people more access to American oil, John McCain will pursue an "all of the above strategy": conservation, fuel efficiency, wind power, solar power, biofuels, and nuclear energy.
John McCain will overcome the partisanship in Washington that prevents us from solving our energy challenges and promoting our country's peace and prosperity.
Our jobs and our way of life depend on electing a leader who can achieve comprehensive energy reform that includes more domestic drilling. That man is John McCain.
Here is my statement on the cancellation:
The cancellation of Mike Pence from the Republican National Convention implies that not only is he no longer the future of this district, or state, but also not the future of his party. The fact that the convention is now ignoring the state of Indiana also implies that the Republicans may be conceding Indiana to the Democratic Party, or perhaps taking Indiana for granted.
Finally, the most startling point to me, is how out of touch Mike Pence is: Out of touch with the district, and out of touch with reality. His continued calls for drilling show that he thinks that we can drill our way out of the energy crisis that our nation is now facing. Drilling will not lower gas prices, nor will it end our dependence on foreign oil. His continued posturing on this issue shows that he is only worried about the politics, not solutions, about big oil's bottom line, and not the people in Eastern Central Indiana.
We will be rolling out our complete renewable energy plan in the next two weeks.
The campaign also picked up a key endorsement and supporter today in Jim Schellinger former candidate for Governor in Indiana. Combined with current Democratic Candidate Jill Long Thompson, this endorsement unifies this district in a way it has never been before.
Please consider giving what you can right now to help us get the message to the middle and guarantee a victory in this district. You Have The Power. Yes You Can Fire This Congressman! Contribute Please.
Thanks
Barry
