Dear Miscreant,
Just wanted to write you a quick note to tell you how much I appreciate you stealing the Obama yard signs out of my mom's yard and out across from my office. I know, you are wondering why I am writing a note of appreciation rather than a pissed off letter to the editor or the local police chief. What you fail to understand is that each act of quiet desperation like you have performed lately just increases my resolve (and the resolve of the other Obama volunteers in our small town of about 1,000) to work harder, register more voters, knock on more doors, and make more phone calls. Since you stole those yards signs, they have been promptly replaced. And we have reupped for the campaign with new donations too.
Not only that, but I express my appreciation because it provides tangible proof that we are bringing about change in our community. I know that you don't like all the new voter registration efforts. I know that you don't want people to go to the polls and exercise their right to vote and take back their government. I know that you don't like to see the Obama campaign working in this rural Georgia county, when the closest McCain office is in Tallahassee, Florida.
Tell you what. If it makes you feel better, go ahead and keep stealing those signs. Because every time you do, I will be out longer registering voters. I will make that many more calls, and I will reup and reup until I am maxed out for the campaign.
That's how change comes about. Did you think that stealing a few signs was going to stop what's happening? Did you think we would poke out our lips, fold our arms, and pout?
Keep up the good work for the McCain-Palin-Republican ticket. And if you want to chat, I'll be knocking doors until November. And oh, thanks for the motivation.
Sincerely yours,
Another Obama Supporter committed to bringing change to our community
